Im going to cut straight to the chase.
I want your money.
Now your probably saying at this point As charming, charismatic and handsome as you are why should I give you my money?
Simple, for charity.
To be more specific MND Scotland.
MND Scotland is the only Scottish charity dedicated to people with Motor Neurone Disease (MND), their families, friends and carers. We provide a wide range of services, information about MND, and funding for research. Through education, campaigning and research, they work collaboratively to ensure that people affected by MND have access to the highest quality care and support.
And you can find out more about them here.
Now at this point your probably asking OK, its a good cause but as charming, charismatic, handsome and talented as you are why should I give YOU the money?
and thats a good question (youre really good at this)
The reason why Im asking for the money is that I have signed up to do the Tough Mudder Challenge
The Tough Mudder event is hardcore 11 mile-long obstacle courses designed by the Special Forces to test your all around strength, stamina, mental grit, and camaraderie that puts its participants through mud, water, fire, electricity and *shudders* stingy nettles. The course itself is at Drumlanrig Castle and Country Estate and consists of 28 gruelling obstacles over the 11 mile course and generally takes about 3 hours to finish and will be held in July.
You can see more about the course and the obstacles here
At this point you are either saying one of two things
What the f****? They ELECTROCUTE you at the end! Why man? Why?
or
Hmmmkay, that sounds tough but Im still not convinced.
I should probably point out that I have never ran a marathon or any sort of endurance test, the last time I set foot in a gym and exercised I was 16 (being of the ripe old age of 34), my diet is pretty guff, I am partial to the odd pint or 3, the occasional cigar and the most energetic I get is playing gears of war on my x-box. In short, Im pretty out of shape.
This means I will have *counts on fingers* about 5 months to get into shape for this event in between all of the usual day to day things that have to be done. Feel free to have a look at their recommended training program ( I did some stretches just scrolling down the page)
And there you have it.
So if I have convinced you to part with your hard earned and much appreciated on my part cash my just giving page can be found here http://www.justgiving.com/Barry-Neeson0 (remember and tick the gift aid box if you can, it doesnt cost you any extra and it really does help)
and stay tuned as I keep you updated on my progress (or lack of it) on the run up to P* day
