Holy shit. Nice koi! You've quite rapidly acquired a significant amount of lower body ink!

In usual Conjure-gal form, here's what's on my mind, and then I'll throw in a few pictures in the bottom. How one we grow.

**snip**

I hope I don't fail uni again.

Really though, what the fuck would it matter if I did? I don't need a degree.

If my dad could hear me say that.

See, what a blog. I don't even have the energy to expound my responses to that. If I had a glass, I would raise it to you. Read this as an indicator that I am going totally fucking insane also, and feel any appropriate solidarity you wish. All the best. And many many thanks for birthday kindnesses, my dear smile xxx
scorpius_cat:
That was a great blog. You are beautiful. I love your clothes too! I love seeing people in casual clothes and I really liked (which is unusual for me) your other non-cas clothes. You are nuts for walking 3hrs home in heels though.

Everything still seems be fine, generally, which is unnerving me a little.

Also - what TFOK says is right. There have been many studies completed which support the view that we are programmed as infants to recognise as "friendly" and "safe" those who look like our mother, and to fear those who do not. True dat.

Thanks very much my dear! I've decided I'm giving up on study today and am just going to eat food all evening. smile Hope you're doing well!

I've actually finished my degree and am doing my honours year, albeit rather dishonourably. Ostensibly studying recent British history trhough transnational sources - Swinging London and "the Sixties" and whatnot. So it's basically a whole year no break, with no option to defer. Hence the all or nothing principle. I've received some rather kind and useful advice from some friends of mine and I'm beginning to think that I can in fact "do this", Not sure I wholly believe that yet, but you know, I'll see how I go.

I gave this man two years to understand me. Methinks that was too long. biggrin

Get TFOK to guide you through some Dworkin when he has a moment smile He linked off on my blog to a rather smashing obituary he wrote for her which is worth reading. I think the two of us are in a vocal, impassioned minority about her, but anyway. smile

Fine picture! Good fun trying to visually disentangle your limbs and work out what goes where. Look forward to the original! smile

I'm glad you liked it. I'm pretty proud of it myself. Not bad for a 1st attempt. & it was self shot. It was always my intent to make it more artistic than anything else. Maybe I'll do another sometime. Not sure I'll find a location as good as that one again though.

Thanks for the kind words

you're pics are pretty damn hot too you know wink

I had a random meeting with Dye, NekoKoneko and Brendan, my tattooist last night at Rics, in the Valley. I handed over some designs for Brendan to draw up my koi for Thursday week. A very exciting turn of events!

So thus became a night of me getting shouted booze (thank you, by the way, and for the pizza, my shout next time, promise...

Love ... the time-soaked, age-old thrill-ride that continues to take us poor ol' humans around in circles until we relax into our graves. If there's one thing I'm cynical about in life, it's love. I hate it so much, but I love it even more. How confusing? To be out of love, as I am at the moment, as a first, has been the most...

Where did you pop up from?

Hey, check this out. I'm returning photo favours. Friend of mine, check her stuff here.

Did you happen to get the name of the person who shot that wonderful stuff you sent me?

Don't do anything by half.
If you love someone, love them with all your soul.
When you go to work, work your ass off.
When you hate someone, hate them until it hurts.

Cheers for the photo thing. I prefer things in black and white. Not everything, mind you. I'm hardly wishing colour blindness on myself. However, I do feel that photography is particularly lovely in black and white and my own vanity wants to swing in that direction. This is all personal taste, however. Then there's the flustered, looks-fifty-when-he's-less-than-half-that-age look that can be glimpsed on BeaEffEff's last blog. I hate digital photography. It's the corruption of an art form. No offense if you're in full support of it, I will go ahead and (dangerously) assume your set was shot on digital. When you delve into the higher end gear it's cool but the very idea of pictures as snapshots into time is fucking wrecked when you've got unlimited ammo as opposed to a cartridge of 24. You get what I'm saying? Those photos on my blog are shot on film, just quietly.

Book away for the 3rd to the 9th. That works better, I believe. My absent dates are June 23 & 24. Also; had the Mars Volta gig on the 19th in Sydney and Kimya Dawson on the 20th so would've been stretching things a bit thin. If you need airport assistance or any such thing you should let me know because as a newly crowned driver I'm all about hooning around town for no good reason. So, when there is a good reason I'm totally in.

I stand by that captivating comment about Rollins and would add sexy. I'm not gay but can appreciate why certain femme fatales would want to fuck a guy and be totally baffled when they wouldn't. It helps also that I'm hoping to follow in his (Rollins) footsteps as far as not burning out or mellowing out goes. A lot of people tend do be rather radical and then just go along with the norm, only ever keeping half a foot in extreme waters, if that. Also on the list of men I'd put on the fuckable and 'why don't people find him attractive list' list; David Cronenberg, Christian Bale, Cedric Bixler Zavala, Lucius Borich, Robert Downey Jr.

Alright, Rollins favourites; Talk is Cheap, Vol. 2, A Rollins in the Wry and Live at the Westbeth Theatre. Also notable are Think Tank (for the tracks 'Nothing Can Go Wrong' and 'No One is Fax Exempt') Talk is Cheap, Vol. 4 (for 'I Can't Get Behind That!'). Also; Talk is Cheap, Volumes 1 & 3. The first three Talk is Cheap recordings were done in Sydney at the Enmore Theatre so they've got a little more resonance as far as him briefly dropping in on local slang and politics are concerned. Bring a flash drive to Sydney and I'll fill it with his back catalogue, if you'd like. Furthermore, if this newly found interest in spoken word has triggered a taste for a little more then I'd like to point you in the direction of Patton Oswalt's comedy album Feelin' Kinda Patton. I fucking cried, he's that good. I'll make a note about hyping things up too much shortly.

Thursday's cigarette drowning occured at the Townie in Newtown (a fucking great watering hole) where there is an area on the ground level that has an open roof all the way to the sky. What else is it going to open to? Idiotic statement. None the less, you get the idea. So I'm sitting there and because we're two stories down and it's a still night there's no wind whipping about to piss the cigarette smoke off and away from my face. Also, probably didn't help I sat confined between a number of smokers. Fear not, if you're not a smoker we can sit in the trenches of the Townie's in door area and tear apart space and time with language.

RE: Your topical Rollins quote. Your recent blogs (at least concerning love and loss etc.) have been fairly indecipherable, at least for those of us that don't know you. That includes me. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that you're hurting because of the love thing. I can sympathise. Or empathise. I'm not sure. I'm in the same boat at the moment if you're in the position I'm thinking you're in. I can't commit friendship hari kiri until my contract on this film is done though because I just don't have the energy to deal with 'no' at the moment. So I have to wait and prepare myself over the next six weeks. I feel like the answer I'm not looking for is inevitable but I'm chasing it because it's taking up a lot of my soul and my thought and I want to cut this fucking tumour out.

Back to hyping things up. I'm not sure about this infamy thing. I'd just say be prepared to deal with loudness. i'm not a hangover's best friend so if you've got one steer clear. Also be prepared to be bombarded with disgusting amounts of music and movie references and a whole lot of grog consumption. Anything specific you want to get up to whilst in Sydney town? I've got nothing to recommend. I just think it's a good base and there are some good people and resources here (for me, at least) that I'm a big fan of.

Speak to you soon, hope you had a cool weekend. Anything that involves an epiphany, sex or death is pretty good. So, did you realize anything or fuck and/or murder anyone in the past 48 hours?
soobie:
Hey you smile

This week I'm 46. Ask me again next week and lets see then, shall we? wink

I can't decide between Oscar Wilde or William Blake. Both take it from behind and both have awesome minds. I wish they were here now to give me the words I need to write for you.
