lately i've developed a dirty little habit. maybe it's not so dirty. maybe it just creeps me out.
i've been watching people sleep.
first it started with kristi. this girl i used to be in love with. (i'm moving in with her soon). she doesn't know i watched her. but she just looked so peaceful and calm. plus she's so beautiful, i couldn't help myself. the next "victim" was some guy at the emergency room yesterday morning. he fell asleep waiting for his friend. at first i didn't think he was very attractive but then as he fell asleep i started to watch him and i found myself attracted to him. which is really weird. but anyway, i watched his chest rise and fall as he breathed. it was really interesting wondering if he was dreaming. then he started making chewing faces and i stopped watching him cos that was kinda ...not sexy so much as hilarious. i mean, i'm not like "super turned on" by watching them..but i like their vulnerablity i think.
then last nite i watched my ex sleep. i don't think it's the first time i've watched him sleep but it's the first time i focused on it and thought about it. i watched him breath and his lips pouted up then air came rushing out of them. not quite a snore but almost. i told him i would watch him sleep before he fell asleep and it didn't creep him out. so maybe i'm over reacting. what do you think?

marla:
I think you are overreacting. Watching a person sleep is a very special thing. You get to see a person in peace. No talking, dramas, faking, trying to look good, or whatever goes on in waking life. Just sleeping and being. Watching the rhythm of a sleeping person can also have a very hypnotic-like calming effect, just like when you concentrate on your own breathing. The world just slows down for that bit.

you should come watch me sleep. i don't snore, and sometimes if i'm lucky my cat sleeps with me and you get to see not one but 2 sleeping pussies!
