A voters crisis of conscience

Their is this saying that you vote

with your money

if said is true lets see recently where I have

voted :

I have voted for one night a young
girl into a hotel room so she

wouldnt have to sleep in a Ctrain station

Though I truthfully wanted her not that room

I do not want what she does not want

I need what she needs

Later I run into her again with friends

and a boy
more then friends

now all she needs is money

for food

The maturity meltsdown as I give her the money

the tears flow as I walk away, they say I have given too much money

abruptly I hear no one following

I sit down and try to regain some semblence of composure

and I walk back towards them

they have turned around to the store

a pack of cigarrettes for everyone

yet all I can think of is that I am so glad that I have found them

As we walk towards our next parting of ways, the girl and her boy hold hands ahead of me chatting

I am surprised by my feelings

this makes me happy

she is getting in some way what she needs

I have resisted exploiting their desperation

but I need what she needs

I am not sure if my conscience will ever let me have it

Though I am glad I know what I am voting for
