So on the advice of some random person on one of the message boards on this site, I picked up a copy of Edward Lee's The Bighead. It was uh... disturbing. But I couldn't put it down! It was crazy like that. Overly violent and obscene, yet captivating. Despite the poor grammar (c'mon, this is the SECOND printing, a little effort here publisher!)...

"No, you really don't want to buy that camera right now."
"Yes I do. I think it's about time I went digital"
"Yes, but you really don't want to buy that camera today."
"I'm buying it, piss off."

Nothing like having your girlfriend insist on buying something for herself when it's already sitting in your closet at home.

I had to ruin the surprise and...

I don't know how the dentist justifies charging me $233.31 for a cleaning. I mean, the least they could have done was find a cavity or something. I told them I'm leaving the country and therefore couldn't book another appointment. Suckas! You lost a client! Ahahaha!

They actually lost a client because the hygenist was unnecessarily rough when polishing. She took a chunk of gum...

My copy of Home Movies Season 3 just came in the mail today. I'm now looking forward to going to work tonight (I know, it's tough, but somebody has to sit on the couch and watch cartoons all night).

Money woes but I don't give a fuck right now. Three paydays in December, overtime, stat holiday, "Prosperity" cheque from the gov't in January, I'm happy...

The Icing:
- Paid airfare there, and a plane ticket home upon completion of the contract.
- 5500 RMB/mo (6500 upon contract renewal) tax free...

GAH! BLOW YOUR FUCKING NOSE ALREADY!

I wish I knew how to work this digital thermostat... I spent the last ten minutes staring at it thinking "What if I fuck it up and it stops working?" Friggin' cold up in this place.

I'm just typing for the sake of typing. It's my night off and I'm sitting at home trying to keep warm, procrastinating. I...

Eight days vacation =

$150 accomodation
$130 gas
$70 food
-----------------
$350 TOTAL

Highlights:

Hallowe'en. We hiked through the rainforest and came out on a beach. Stood in the Pacific ocean and admired the absolutely overwhelming power of the winter waves. The water was surprisingly warm for the time of year. Nice, quiet Hallowe'en in Tofino,

Pirate Chips. Nanaimo is so lucky to have this...

So I've been thinking about some memorable times I've had at work... Here's a condensed list.

- Meeting a Maori with some intricate Moko work done. He was one of the most interesting guys I've ever met and not just because of his appearance. He was a consultant for the World Food Program doing threat assessments where the WFP was operating, one of them being...

So I have $1200 Continental Airlines credit that I WILL NOT use. I have nowhere to go! I don't like the way Continental operates in Canadian cities (fly through Houston). If I want to go to Vegas, I don't want to spend 5 hours flying into Houston and then another 5 flying back up to Vegas when a competing airline will do the whole thing...
