I'm beginning to hate the new fangled technologies. It used to be that you could buy one type of stereo or tv or whatever and get one cord that would fit between them all. Not anymore.

It used to be that an RCA jack was the industry standard. Now its 1/8 or 1/32 whatever that it.

I remember this stereo my brother gave me years ago, and how it had all kinds of plug-ins available that no one seemed to know what to do with, how I was able to hook it up not only to speakers, but to my tv and a VCR. Now, this doesn't sound like much these days, but we're talking the mid 70's here, before the personal computer and wires that did all this stuff. One RCA jack, one stereo jack. two wires were all that were made (not including non-jack speaker wires) and could fit into anything.

I bought a new computer awhile ago. I realized that I have connections in it that I can hook up a VCR directly into the tower. But my RCA jacks don't fit! They fit in my VCR, but I need to go buy "plug adapters" to get the ends that go into the computer in a smaller size. Nobody at Radio Shack seems to know what you're talking about either. So I buy a couple that say RCA to 1/8" jacks. These are too big too! Apparently there are 1/32" size, and these are what I need. These things aren't cheap either! Why didn't the computer people just make the right size to begin with? The maufacturer doesn't own Radio Shack (I checked this out already)!

My journals depressing? I remember someone who used to end every journal with "I hate my life". tongue

All kidding aside, I am glad to see that is no longer the case.

Not sure I needed a break after all. Or that I will be taking one. I did need a new perspective. A wake up call if you will. Which I got from an unexpected source. Things have become surprisingly good.
