Friday night I had a great time trying to get home. I was going down Interstate 35 from some 50 miles north of Saint Paul at the incredible high speed of 60 miles per hour. You might state "So?" and then remind me that the speed limit on that stretch is 70. But those that live in the area and knew that there was a Blizzard that night might think that I was driving like a maniac. It was about 12:30am when I left Wisconsin and about 2:30am when I drove through Saint Paul. By the time I was just south of the city, I was beginning to doze off. So I decided to take an exit ramp and get some shut-eye before driving the remaining 10 miles home. After feeling a little better (only sat for 5 minutes), I attempted to get back on the highway. I say attempt, because the 40mph I was traveling down the on-ramp was too fast for the ice at the bottom of the hill. Needless to say I kissed the snow bank. I was in my winter car that I had just gotten out of the shop a week ago.

I was truly amazed at how helpful people are. Not only did several people stop to make sure I was alright, but several cars that did not stop had at least called 911. I tried calling a tow service several times on my cell using 411, but they kept connecting me either to buisnesses that had nothing to do with towing, or that would not answer the phone. So on my 4th call I called 911, and the girl who answered told me where I was! She stated several people had already called in and a tow company was already on the way to pull me out. This happened before anyone stopped to check up on me. So I sat there for about 40 minutes and got pulled out onto the highway. Then I drove home to find 3 foot snow drifts in my driveway. I tried to park somewhere in my driveway and went inside to sleep.

I woke up Saturday, and went to start digging my car out of the snow. I was fortunate enough that some guy happened by with a pickup/plow who cleared out my driveway for $20, but in the process I found that my car... the one I had just gotten back from the shop 5 days earlier, wouldn't start. I had it towed back to the shop, where on Monday I'm gonna ask the shop if they forgot something when they were fixing it last time, cause its not running again. Hope it doesn't cost me another $1800... if it does then I'm as good as dead financially.

buddy i telling you. this shit is beginning to suck. the blizzards up here were nasty too. at one point id given up and just thought it was simply a matter of where i go in the ditch, not if. people up here are not lke in the citys though. the initial thought is to grill you and eat you, then it kicks in that maybe they should help you, by then theyve passed you and suddenly forget altogether about you having been distraced by pretty lights or something.....

Hmmmm, I don't remember any question standing out as seeming harder than the others (in fact I was sure I was right about the one I did get wrong). Which one did you think I would get wrong?

Yeah, I don't care about the SG thing either. I just thought it would be a hard question, because I have never really told anyone about which ones I have met, so no one should be able to get it. You made some interesting guesses though. I like looking at the questions people get wrong. Far more interesting than what they get right. Especially if some answers are "more wrong" than others.

Hmmm, I saw Elektra with a friend too. I was pleasantly surprised, better than I expected. Ahhh the joys of low expectations. I think it also helped that I am not overly familiar with the character.

See this is why cars suck. Bike repairs never cost that much and whn you wipe out on an icy hill and kiss a snow bank you don't need a tow truck to get out. Actually I have never had a bad wipe out on ice or snow. Just in dry conditions. confused whatever
Of course, biking home from Wisconsin might kind of suck. Hope the car problems turned out ok.
