Scented rose wine drips
delicate petals of moisture
upon the back of my heart
from a plane of indifference.

I shrug it off as a latent plea for forgiveness.

I stare.
The wall stares back.

It is a contest I know I won't win
yet I have nothing else to spend my
lonesome pathetic seconds on.

The buzz from an ancient radial fan
drowns out the whispers of her name
that dance in my ear canals while a
mist of improperly formed ideals stir
up mischief in the dark.

Burnt and bruised, my ego feels abused
and the fiddler holds up the band while
he rosins his bow.

I wonder if he heard my request for no more silly love songs?

Well, I had something more to say, but
then I decided against it.

Thanks to everyone who wished me a
Happy Birthday yesterday...but

it wasn't really my birthday.

Sorry. I fucked up.

It goes without saying that I have an issue with the whole honesty vs. trust thing. But I had a change of heart and so I'll be a little more honest in the future.

I did enjoy hearing from everyone and I would hope that my dishonesty would be forgiven.
