Prophetic Rant
Individual style becomes more and more attractive to average folk. As a result, people move further and further from established chains of societal control. The dilution of major cliques fragment the "norm". The geek and the square and the weirdo become celebrated characteristics while the Gap kids are laughed out of town for their lack of personal vision.
The Internet:
A multifaceted society changer if there ever was one.
No longer must people rely on controlled media. Independent journalists report the same events from multiple viewpoints, as well as report events which may have gone unnoticed (intentionally or otherwise) by a handful of "respected" corporate news stations.
It (the Internet) also deals the death blow to the mega-music-lables and the product they sell through extreme repetitive exposure.
While at the same time, becoming a haven for a multitude of independent artists who can make an honest living with a smaller loyal fanbase of positive individuals, who themselves are looking for (and finding easily) an alternative to the overplayed, recycled monotony of the corporate music world.
As a result, Independent music floods the homes and minds of the next great generation to come to power.
And we all know how powerful music can be in forming the values of a generation.
Independent film; now staggeringly easier to produce, (and with the Internet, easier to distribute), becomes the true friend of great script writers everywhere.
A great influx of quality storytelling enhance the thought process of all those frustrated by the words "Blockbuster" and "12 dollars for 2 hours of crap that cost 300 million to make.."
As a result of this intense exposure to true multifaceted reporting of worldly events as well as an increasingly broader artistic vision, a clearer voice will be heard, birthing the infancy of a true culture, strong in diversity and flexible in the same. Intelligence, compassion and human logic will finally tighten its strangle hold on the blind obedience and popular apathy of the past .
The old politics will spin its final greatest lies, but it will not be able to effectively argue its belief system in the face of this quickly growing fledgling society of independently informed creators.

I will make it a point never to drink so much absinthe that I vomit. Thanks for the warning!
