So, this friend of mine stood me up yesterday. She flies out today, sometime in the afternoon, first to the east cost for some training, then to Iraq. There is a significant chance I will never see or hear from her again. She wanted to hang out sometime Saturday. She never called me back. Why would someone do that?
Let me tell you about a minor formative experience I had.
Back in my youth (heh), 14 or there about, I was watching a baseball game with my dad. It was between innings and the announcer was trying to fill in dead air. So he started talking about the crowd at the stadium. Now, one thing he said really jumped out at me, he said Boy there sure are some beautiful people out here today. As I thought about this statement, and looked at the audience I eventually had to agree with him.
Now this statement stuck with me for some reason, and when I look at a crowd, I usually think something very similar to what the announcer said. I guess people are beautiful.
