I have been at my current job for only 5 weeks , but just found out today I was being given a substantial pay raise by my supervisor.

That means lots of money to keep me going when I switch over to freelancing.

I'm smiling like a damn MFer right now.

I once took a trip on Ryanair where the plane nearly reversed in on itself and did cartwheels for what seemed to be a half hour straight.

Then there is how their airports are never near the cities they are named after, and how you realize that "Brussels-South" and "Vienna Metro" airports are really 80 miles away from the cities you are going to...

But hell, those prices. *sob* I'd make sweet sweet love to Ryanair if I could too.

HOLY FUCK THE SUPERMARKETS HERE ARE EXPENSIVE.

No dude, I don't want to pay $4.85 for a pound of dodgy hamburger meat with an expiration date three days away.

I'm thinking from now on that the drive to the suburban markets might be better -- Even after gas I'll still save.

Or maybe one of the supermarkets in South Philly or the Irish ghetto....

Hmm..

It's a short post kind of day: The weather here is 60 degrees, overcast and a perfect replica of a mid-spring Portland day. Really.

So the only possible thing to do today is to grab a few friends, buy a pitcher or two of Henry Weinhard's and bullshit the night away.

But this is the east coast, Henry Weinhard's gone and we live in the...

So we finished the move to the new apartment. HOLY FUCK.

Smack in the middle of downtown, lots of room, gorgeous views of the city, good price on the rent, fun neighborhos... I could go on and on.

I'm happy now.

The DJ at the club last night played a Skrewdriver song. Definitely not cool.

Anyway, I don't pay good money to hear songs about how the 'Voice of Britain' wants to kick all the 'zionists' out and make the nation white again.

Here in the states, I'm thinking of what life would be without mexican food, puerto rican girls, hip-hop or bollywood movies and it...

A few words on music...

I love old reggae. Not the late '70s ganja-and-silly-haircuts stuff... But the older JA roots -- Alton Ellis, Derrick Morgan, Dennis Brown, Don Drummond, Ernest Ranglin...

The old singles are expensive though. And the CD compilations they're on? Forget it, brothers and sisters, they are usually dubbed in what sounds like a garbage can filled with water and on discs...
