Interview I did with Bryan Cody, in jun of 2005. questions not alot of people hear me answer.

1. you've been in the game for a minute.(i personally became familiar with

your music when you were like 14 on mixman radio) do you have any advice for

youngsters (no pun intended) starting out in rap music?

Yes a couple of things really, first off you have to

be your own worst critic. you can always improve,

being a perfectionist isn't totally a bad thing when it

comes to your own music. I don't know what you guys

hear when you listen to my music, but I feel I suck,

it may be a curse, but I like it. Also, when your

starting out and all you get is positive feed back,

its not a good thing at all. I could of used criticism

from the beginning cuz the first time I heard it, i was

in complete shock. your going to have haters. I

guarantee it, if you don't have any you might get

stabbed in the back.

2.recently you posted a song on myspace as well as

your website titled "crew or no crew" which

is obviously a diss record aimed at el jefe. back in

2003 you two were rolling hard together.

what are the origins of your beef with him? what

happened?

mainly I wasn't getting respect from them i deserved,

well it wasn't DKC's (killa-c) fault, and we're cool

now.. el Jefe was shipped off to Iraq and I don't know

how we are, i just know he was claiming i was putting

girls before my homies. I only did it once and it was

because he was calling in the middle of our first

formal date, now I'm for the noble brotherhood, but

I'll be damned if im not a gentlemen for the few girls

i get A chance with. anyways shit happened and I

snapped.

3. heres something ive been meaning to ask you for

a while: production wise you have this real distinctive sound.

its come along way since mixman radio

days. what equipment to you use to make your songs?

mic, mixer, software?

Well my only real hardware I use constantly is my

ATR50 from audio-technica, its my mic. Its pretty

good, and was only around $50. My recording software

is Adobe Audition, I liked it better when it was cool

edit pro but I can still do more things on adobe. As

for my beats, I use Reasons 2.5, I don't have enough

money to upgrade to 3.0 or else I would, but thats all

I really use to make my magic other than a pen and

paper.

4.ok, pulling no punches with this one: some of the

lyrics you come up with are just damn

DISTURBING! (example your verse in test123 "fighting

myself like a forbidden tribe trying to rape a girl")

how do you come up with that stuff?

Well first off its not for shock value, I don't know

what that is anymore. All I know is, from growing up

outside of the social system. I was a People Watcher,

I think If it we'rnt for our moral conscience, we

would kill each other. I can really see it happening.

Ok well I know we all have these thoughts, not the

same, but you have sick disgusting thoughts that you

wont tell ANYONE, so do I (kinda scary since what I

say can be very out there). It just kind of clicks

with you.. also everything I say in songs usually has a

double meaning. in example "fighting myself like a

forbidden tribe trying to rape a girl" Is the political

structure, people try to do what their not allowed

too. In very rare cases is this not true. they would

have to be in it completely on free will, but most of

the time its all force! maby when people learn this

they'll start looking at what i say more closely

5 .is evul people still together? any plans on new

material from the group?

This Is half no comment.

DKC i honestly don't know if hes in it anymore, and

even if he is how we would record. other wise evul

People will continue to be and I will always

represent, in fact I have some secrets in the working

thats going to make my evul Empire. All I can really

say is, positions are open, new people have already

been hired.

6.you brought up Iraq. what are your thoughts on our current situation out there?

should we be over there fighting at all?

if we ares still over there when your turn 18 would you willing go?

Iraqi freedom war.. We we're sent over there for

weapons of mass destruction that didn't exist and we're still over

there.. we're giving this country a forced revolution,

that did not come naturally. I'm not really sure where I

stand with this war, I don't know all the details, I don't

think anyone really does. wow I feel pretty bad not

knowing where I stand on this.. But I don't feel our way of life is

threatened and I don't feel I need to fight, so no i

would not be willing to go unless it was absolutely necessary

7.before you posted "crew or no crew" there was a

series of cuts on your myspace account that

broke away form the style that i was used to hearing

from you. one of them was "grow up cold"

and.."rap is dead" also comes to mind, where you are

utilizing hard edged beats and guitar chords

..it seems like you were going for a different sound

with those joints..punk maybe?

Well, first off im always shocked when I hear that not

only do people listen to my music, but they follow

it.. Its happened enough times but I still wonder why people

care? but i am thankful that they do. alright to

answer this,

yes I was using more rock rap then normal rap,

actually this was a point in time before I had

reasons, and just put loops together..

and I was running out of loops so I

was doing new stuff that I didn't think of before and

new combo's I even used drum loops backwards, now punk? my

music is not going punk, I may be as I sit here with

my silver painted nails, writing all over my arms, cut up

clothing, skull studded belt, and blue black dyed

Mohawk, while listening to "jaded" by operation ivy

(punk/ska). I do think I will remain doing hardcore

rap/wack rap, but I cant say their wont be punk influences.

8.i want to touch on question #2 a bit,. cuz you bring

up an interesting dilemma with regards to hip hop culture. the current

trend in the game is treat all females like hoes. "g's up, hoes down" how

realistic is that mentality?

this is a widely asked question, its the first time

I've personally been asked it. Alright "homies before

bitches" is really a term that can have respect I think, its like

an unwritten code between men, But no where have I

ever herd that girls cant be homies too, i think as soon as you

care for a girl they should be a homie, well certainly not a

bitch, today's society seems to view girls as just a

piece of ass, I really can't elaborate on something as

simple as that, Todays music videos contain almost naked

girls doing all sorts of crap, ok really I'm not

against almost naked women on music videos, but it seriously can be

done with taste. maby its just me though, i like

sensual sexy, not nasty sexy, and im as kinky as can be in privacy,

you can show nasty idea's but you don't have to be

nasty about it.

9.I'm going to take it back a few years to the

Columbine (sp?) incident that

involved the "Trench coat Mafia" When i was in High School the biggest

threat we would maybe face was some kid bringing a knife to

school. Whats high school like for youngsters these days. do you pack a

heater?

In 6th grade a kid threatened the school, I was so

scared I cried and didn't come to school the next day,

the kid was arrested, no evidence of a planned attack we're found.

most of the time we don't think about this, Well I

really don't cuz every one who'd shoot up the school

are my friends, I've seen more weapons at school then I care

to tell, but I myself don't pack anything more than a

Knife, and never at school. I don't need to be in more

trouble. I'm really against violence all together, and

I don't usually have a problem with it because im big and scary so

people wont step to me usually.

10. Who or what made you decide you wanted to embark

on a career as a rapper?

hr mm i was.. 13? over at my moms friends house.. they

had there nephews or some sort of kids over they we're

taking care of them, mix cd, eminem, real slim shady.. first

time I heard of him and his music.. instant love man..

I started memorizing his lyrics and reciting them the

same exact voice.. then my voice changed.. I started

writing my own stuff, people thought I was good. by 14 I started

recording my own stuff.. simple story, but damn its a

good one

isn't it? just kidding.

dude so far

this is one of the most intelligent q and a's i think ive ever

seen a rapper do

(not that i think rappers are stupid or whatever)

but seriously this series of questions paints a real fascinating picture

of

you as an artist and person

(especially at your age)

i just want to tell you man, im in your corner

im going to do what i can to promote your music out here in the dirty

south

i really believe after reading your responses that you will go far with

your

music

and like i said im going to represent for ya out here

that being said i guess this is the final question:

FINAL QUESTION MISSING frown
