On 2/8/09 My friend Joanna was snowboarding. She made an attempt to avoid a rock and fell, injuring her back. She is now paralyzed from the waist down, with an unknown prognosis for at least a year.

I really wish I was home right now. I always wish I was home, but I really wish I was home to be with Joanna. She is probably one of the most fun, amazing, and greatest people I have ever been around, and she always has a positive attitude. She's a great friend, and I feel so helpless to not be by her side as she rolls around the physical rehab place she is at right now.

I gave her a call a few hours ago to check in on her. She started crying immediately and said that my call "made her day." actually, her answering made mine. I love her (as a friend) and it just kills me that a bad thing happened to a good person. It makes me want to get home extra fast just so I can see her.

I'm hoping I can kidnap her from hospital and show her a grand ole time like only I can. I just need to get home already so I can get my head together...
