Hello Children,
This rant is all about reinvention. In my case, this became neccessary when 1400 lbs of drill-pipe nearly cookie cut a hole in my chest while working on the (oil) rigs. While the money was great, (starting salary was 80k a year) I've grown tired of working a job where DEATH is the priamry occupational hazard. I can say the same thing about my time in the military, except where the money is concerned. I'm becoming an old man before my time.
So I've taken it upon myself to enroll at Western Dakaota Tech. Reinvention can be a difficult task when you're the same age as your instructors, and you have more experience. Now children, I'm not trying to put my professors down. They are knowlegdable in their fields, but unlike them, I have experience. Sometimes my experience clashes with their knowledge. Or perhaps I'm just getting stubborn, crotchety, and mean in my old age. If this is the case, oh well.
Other than that children, I'm still the same anti-social psychopath that people fear me to be. I find that talking to other human beings for more than five minutes can be a life-draining, soul-sucking experience. Seriously, if I have to deal with people, I had better have something to gain from it; like money, booze, or sex. Otherrwise I fail to see the relevance. That's all for this rant children.
