Hello Children,

After taking some much needed time off in the lovely nation of Qatar, I have come to one very simple conclusion. KUWAIT SUCKS!!! To quote my favorite character from Twisted Metal Black, Sweet Tooth,"I'll tell you something, boys and girls. I never believed in curses before... but I sure AS HELL believe in curses now!!!". It is my theory that whomever makes up the duty assignments for the 115th Fire Brigade, makes it their personal mission to give us the WORST possible army base in the entire middle east. There is nothing here children. No trees, no sage, no rocks, no water (for 3,000 feet below surface), i.e. no indoor plumbing, no smut, no booze, no women, no wildlife, NO NOTHING!!! The only thing that seems to be prominent here in Kuwait, is the sand.

In Qatar, I had access to a beach, indoor plumbing (yay!!), beer, beer, beer, free internet access, beer, and no last minute middle of the night trips to Iraq. I slept in real barracks. Not a filthy dust-ridden tent full of holes. For my meals if I chose to, (and I did), food was ordered from the city and brought into the base. Which was washed down with real chai. Not that pumpkin pie tasting horeshit that Starbucks sells either. I was able to mingle with gorgeous women from around the world. There was one little Syrian number at the Doha City mall who almost made me cry. Between her fair skin, and her accent, my brainwaves nearly short-circutted. Of course had things gone too much far children, yours truly would be sitting in a Qatari prison. It takes very little to get arrested in a Muslim nation. I took many pictures of the city. One of these days when I can access this site, without a public computer and a proxy server, I'll post some picture of my escapades here in the sandbox. Today however is not that day. Tommorrow isn't either. Neither is the next.

The point I'm trying to make here children, is that war doesn't have to be a drag. It can be a fairly enjoyable experience. The problem is trying to convince my chain of command of this point of view. Seriously if I could have been stationed in Qatar and fought in Afghanistan the first time I came over, I doubt that I would have had the flashbacks I had upon my return. Anywho, I'm done ranting now children. Feel free to back to whatever it was you were doing.
