With each year that passes less attention is focused on liberal arts education while more emphasis is geared towards getting students in and out of school as quickly as possible to prepare for a specific trade. The academic profession is adjusting to accommodate the needs of the changing characteristics of students. Saving money and time by enrolling in programs designed to get the degrees as quickly as possible seems like it could be idealistic for any student, but limiting a student to factual knowledge about a certain subject isnt going to allow the student to understand the major forms of human communication as well as develop imagination and creativity which produces understanding that is connected to everything from history to cultures.
