Sunshine orange on brick, orange on
flat gravestones at St. Marks. Orange
the sun, dapple orange the skin,
skin much more color than skin, from
sun to shin, no shiver, no quake, lush warm
skin bread, sun orange bake.

Sunshine fleck cherry blossoms, James
points apart the gate. Pigeon dropping:
ping. Bricks. Sun on bricks, sun orange
through bars and gate. Lets stand here
in...

A COPY OF MY ARTIST STATEMENT FOR GRAD SCHOOL:

I am a satirical, new media cartoonist who works in three dimensions. Through multiples, art objects, and performances, I create a rich, quirky cartoon universe in which time travel is commonplace and artists function as part-time superheroes. Much in the same manner as The Simpsons or The Flintstones offer a collection of characters that coalesce as...

OOOOOOoooohhh... Thank you so much for the sonnet... It's beautiful!!! kiss I love the way you write.. And you definitely cheered me up on the night I read it, and today again as well! You might not believe this but I'm "a writer" (I mean that I write "for myself only", plus quite a lot of letters to friends) on my own language.smile Have a gorgeous day!!

My books are :
Frantz Fanon - The Wretched of the Earth
Michelle Cliff - No Telephone to Heaven
Virginia Woolf - Mrs Dalloway
Aldous Huxley - Brave New World
and random short stories by D.H. Lawrence

So nothing incredibly hard, though I found the Fanon really repetitive and Woolf tends to be a little rambly.

You are a girl. I did not/ do not want you to interfere.

As if I am the only man that exists.
Keeping you out because I can.

Then I see you weeping on the bed in my mothers room.
I try to pass by quickly so that you cannot see me.
Ashamed. But it is too late, so
I turn away.

I beg your...

Is the me who I was still back where I used to be, playing in ways I no longer have time to do? I understand how it can all come back, sometimes.

I know I've found something great when I'm pissed that I didn't write it myself. You've pissed me off this evening, which is a good thing. Very nice.

Here's some sun for you!! *SUN, SUN, SUN* smile

Oh there's not much jobs available anywhere where I live.. And I'm looking for a job from a different city that I'm living now, so maybe the employeers don't like it that I'm not living there yet.. Sigh. No flat, no job -- no job, no flat. I'll just keep hoping for a miracle. biggrin

My hands grope vainly in a glass fruit bowl,
knocking, bruising plastic grapes, apples, pears.
An inedible wax feast. YOU OPEN,
MANY MILES AWAY. Wait; fine fuzz...>>> here >>>,
a swelled orange red peach, actual and fair.

You stomp cross concrete on Third Ave.. The spray
of snow puddles squirts your ankles; soft hair
on your thigh trills; you enter the subway.

I tear open...

Went to Hoboken last night for a birthday party - beer and revelry. I don't get out too much these days, suburban freak that I am, so it was a savage change of pace.

I met with my band, the Flat Astronauts, there and we discussed the future. It looks good. Bill, the guitarist has been meeting a lot of folks in the industry and...

Ah, juicy Cobalt love. heh. Sounds like a fun evening.

The one thing about being in a band that I never could stomach is that it's an inherently collaborative thing. For some people playing off of what the other people in the band are doing drives them to be better. Usually I just found it annoying. Perhaps I was just in the wrong type of band.
libby:
hey thanks for ur opinion in my journal! i actually have done the blonde hair thing too many times haha.

Cleaning house today for the first time since the wedding - quite a task!! Lots of pile up. WHEW!

Boggles the mind doesn't it? He left last year for his duty station in Germany to get all our housing paperwork in order and it took forever. About 5 months later he was deployed to Kuwait. We have a son who doesn't remember him as was a baby when his Dad left. It should be a strange time for all of us, but I can't wait to see him again! love

Cobalt the maid. Kinda has a nice ring to it.
