Back from Maui, and man was it unreal! Had a great time. Highlights, (besides getting saucy with the new wife of course) -
1) The road to Hana - a twisty, often one lane highway through a rain forest, and alongside cliffs and waterfalls. Frequently without railings, I feared for my life but the adreneline was part of the rush.
2) Breakfast in bed
3) Crystal clear, calm water, great for swimming
4) Lava rocks with sea creatures swimming around in little pools of water
5) Caves formed by lava flows
6) A Red Sand beach with bright blue water, accessed by climing a 100 foot high ledge over perilous watery rocks
7) Tattooed hula dancers with coconut bras
8) A black sand beach, eerie and curious
9) An uneartlhly martian like landscape at the top of a mountain, overlooking dormant volcano craters.
10) Lots of one lane bridges and waterfalls
11) Bamboo Forests
12) A big blue bird with red eyes

Hey thanks for your comments about my poem for Noelle. I like Frank O'Hara; haven't read a lot of Gregory Corso. Maybe I should do next one in style of Charles Olsen!

Welcome back! God, that sounds unbelievable. My fiancee and I had a small chance to be stationed (Army) in Hawaii(sp?) but we ended up with Germany instead. I so jealous! Hopefully I will get to see it for myself one day.
I'm glad you had such a fabulous time.
