Before things get any worse, Sgt. Stoner returns just in time, using his pistol to end the cat-and-dog death-duel. Pressing on, they see various creatures of the northern wilderness, including musk oxen and even a wolverine (who doesnt look a thing like Hugh Jackman!)

Hours later, while breaking trial for this team, Sgt. Stoner accidentally steps onto an area of soft snow and falls into a crevice, knocking him unconscious. Breaking loose of his constraints, Rex rushes to Sgt. Stoners side and s-l-o-w-l-y drags the mountie out of the crevice and onto his sled!

Then he spies a flock of geese flying overhead and makes an astounding deduction (at least for a white German shepherd whos never received a single Boy Scout merit badge):

Birds migrating SOUTH for the winter! NORTH is in the opposite direction!
