Went to Hoboken last night for a birthday party - beer and revelry. I don't get out too much these days, suburban freak that I am, so it was a savage change of pace.

I met with my band, the Flat Astronauts, there and we discussed the future. It looks good. Bill, the guitarist has been meeting a lot of folks in the industry and has been introducing them to our material. He definitely is aiming to get us signed. Me, I just want to continue putting out our low-fi, improvisational recordings. Hey, if we get signed, so much the better, but I'm not hedging my bets on it yet. Our stuff is far too quirky and low-fi for even the fringes of alternative music. In my humble opinion of course.

Checking out all the "City" chicks was something I miss terribly from the days when I used to live in the East Village. The best part, is I was there with my saucy new wife, who looked really, really hot, and she was hanging on me all night.

So all the hot single chicks that used to give me the brush off were demurely, yet enviously checking us out, while slyly prowling for their own flesh satisfaction in the bar. I went home with the hottest girl at the bar - my new wife!!! HOORAY!! I was too sloppy to give her a good fucking last night, but not to worry, I'll take care of some super juice action tonight, in spades.

Ah, juicy Cobalt love. heh. Sounds like a fun evening.

The one thing about being in a band that I never could stomach is that it's an inherently collaborative thing. For some people playing off of what the other people in the band are doing drives them to be better. Usually I just found it annoying. Perhaps I was just in the wrong type of band.
