Went to Hoboken last night for a birthday party - beer and revelry. I don't get out too much these days, suburban freak that I am, so it was a savage change of pace.
I met with my band, the Flat Astronauts, there and we discussed the future. It looks good. Bill, the guitarist has been meeting a lot of folks in the industry and...

I like Germany - she has a very dangerous, yet saucy look. That's all for now - no time to write!

Boggles the mind doesn't it? He left last year for his duty station in Germany to get all our housing paperwork in order and it took forever. About 5 months later he was deployed to Kuwait. We have a son who doesn't remember him as was a baby when his Dad left. It should be a strange time for all of us, but I can't wait to see him again!

Cobalt the maid. Kinda has a nice ring to it.

I guess that's what married life will do to ya.
Yeah, baby I'm a geek! Today purchased a the "Legion of SuperHeroes Archive # 12". I used to get the comic when I was a wee lad in the 70's and there is a high nostalgia fix to be had.
I watched a special on the History Channel on Cambodia and Pol Pot - it's no wonder that Jello Biafra was fixated on him lyrically...

So true.
There is ALWAYS someone who has it worse. Sad but true. Btw, my fiancee is total nerd. Comic books and RPG's and he's 33. lol It's so adorable!
Back from Maui, and man was it unreal! Had a great time. Highlights, (besides getting saucy with the new wife of course) -
1) The road to Hana - a twisty, often one lane highway through a rain forest, and alongside cliffs and waterfalls. Frequently without railings, I feared for my life but the adreneline was part of the rush.
2) Breakfast in bed

Hey thanks for your comments about my poem for Noelle. I like Frank O'Hara; haven't read a lot of Gregory Corso. Maybe I should do next one in style of Charles Olsen!
roxxee:
Welcome back! God, that sounds unbelievable. My fiancee and I had a small chance to be stationed (Army) in Hawaii(sp?) but we ended up with Germany instead. I so jealous! Hopefully I will get to see it for myself one day.
I'm glad you had such a fabulous time.
My wedding on Saturday was beautiful and flawless. I'm not ashamed to admit that I shed more than a tear or two during my vows. And when the guitarist sang the song I wrote for my Wife, the whole place was bawling. Tears of joy, I assure you!! I'm now a happily married man. Tomorrow morning, I will be off to Maui for two weeks...

Ladies and gents, I do believe this will be my last entry here as a single man. Wedding rehearsal is tomorrow, some festivites for Friday, and then Saturday is the big day. WHEW! Getting married. Stressful!! 150 of my closest time traveling friends and family will be there. It's a non-religious ceremony, patterned on our own design. We have written our own vows, too. After...

Congratulations--I'm of the secret opinion that my 30's are going to be pretty neat, too.
Well, had my bachelor party on Saturday, in the style of a Dean Martin Roast. My Best Man, JEA, rented out a banquet room and 16 of my closest male friends proceeded to rip me a new one for about two hours. It was absolutely rip roaring. One of the best times I ever had being insulted in my life. Stories from my past that...

bwaaahhahaha! nothing like your friends ragging on you to make you happier that you are leaving them to join "the other side"
rickroyal:
No, no, no, no, no. You can't tease me with titles like that and not give me more.
Sounds like a good time, though. Glad you had fun.
Glad you enjoyed the entry.

I'm drawing pictures of ORANGES in Flash. Or modifying them anyway. Pipsqueaks pop into iron jars. Steaks and stars twinkle buttery and fictional. Pink paintings of spear headed chicks dread pain of boot.
Lapdogs and co-patriots snidely sweatshop their way into your heart. I'm using the word "FUCK" alot at work and it could be problematic.

I'm referring specifically to post-WWII Ultra-Humanite. I inherited my uncle's comic book collection, and it is vast. Pretty much every Marvel and DC superhero comic since the mid 1940s.
I feel luscious today.
Since my last entry, I did get a couple folks to commit to some of my BOX projects, which is terrific.
Been really really busy with wedding plans. Toughest part at the moment is finalizing my own vows.
A couple folks got the AX today at work and rumor is rampant that many many more are soon to come over the...

Wow! Good luck on your wedding. What an awsome time it must be for you. I just love to see people in love!

Yeah i was quite upset at the time, so i did some digging and found anything i could find that would suite the piece. But i still don't think that it should have been offensive to anyone, and it is art you think that would be open here, i dunno.
I've been doing some research of late for alternative models...when I return from my Honeymoon, I'll be seeking them for what I call "Pseudo-Historical" boxes.
The boxes will contain photos of the models, handwriting samples, recordings, articles of clothing and other select objects. Basic idea being that I will work with the model to develop a fictional historical persona from either the past or the...

That sounds interesting.
I'm studying a play at the moment about invented history, a playwright couldn't find her own history, so she made some up.
And I *did* have my dream birthday cake. My manager took me out in the evening to try to buy me oreo cheesecake, but only found brownie cheesecake instead. It's *so* yummy.

The one thing about being in a band that I never could stomach is that it's an inherently collaborative thing. For some people playing off of what the other people in the band are doing drives them to be better. Usually I just found it annoying. Perhaps I was just in the wrong type of band.
