POLYMORPHOUS PERVERSITY

Human beings are naturally curious about all kinds of play. Channeling desire, passion, and curiosity into institutions that limited sex for procreation was the work of previous centuries of repression. Channeling it into approved outlets that fit with a world of consuming and materialism is the work of the post-World War II business hegemony which has turned citizens into passive consumers of manufactured experience. Unfolding and re-emerging this first repressed, and then released-but-controlled perversity should be the work of this time, led by brave post-modern sex-positive feminists, for it is women's power to unleash us from the bounds of restraints that will finally unlock the playful spectrum of perverse expression. Then we can embrace all forms of eroticism, play, and human interaction.
This is what scares the shit out of the Christian right, because totally unleashed polymorphous perversity does indeed threaten the traditional family, in their view, and traditional institutions of repression.

FAMILY VALUES
Let's embrace them and define them this way: Love for one another, whether the family unit is monogamous, polygamous, polyamorous, single, multiple, communal, gay, straight, multigenerational. Love that goes beyond family to community. Protection of life that extends beyond the fetus stage to protection of health, peace rather than sacrificing lives in warfare, justice rather than grinding up lives in poverty and crime and drug addiction, the pursuit of happiness including consensual hedonism (see above), protection of children and adults from abuse, and tolerance of all forms of artistic expression. When does this project start? Here and now. The Democrats ain't gonna do it for us. Not without a huge push from the grass roots. Because they're afraid to step out of line too.
