Somehow, in this age of instant communication and sophisticated threat alerts, a tsunami rolled for hours across the Indian Ocean without warnings being sounded for people to evacuate the coastlines.

Tens of thousands of people died, swept away by the ways.

In this same Christmas week, there was snow in south Texas and New Orleans and two feet of snow in southern Indiana.

And here, on Christmas Eve, I heard my brother-in-law complaining about how horrible it was for him to have to scrape off his car windows before driving to work.

As if nature exists for our convenience, and if any inconvenience cause by nature is unfair.

Tell that to the parents of children playing on the beach who were swept away by the tsunami.

Tell that to the polar bears and arctic wolves dying as they lose their habitat thanks to global warming.

Nature rules. We can choose to worship her, ignore her, or try to defy her.

But I have no more tolerance for complainers. Haven't you noticed the weather does whatever it wants despite your preferences? So put up with it, shut up about it, or move to another planet.
