I think the trick is to focus one's energy.
Lately mine seems to be dissipating and to be widely misunderstood. Curiosity is fine, but some focus is needed.

vivid:
sometimes if you focus on one tho, you cant possible do all that is needed.
I feel so widespread lately with my own energy, focus, life.

--- catch me? and your chasing?
I am one difficult girl to catch. even my attention is fast.

August is the cruelest month: Summer getting ready to say goodbye.
It's like the morning after--you fall asleep and dream that you wake up and that great sex partner you had is gone. Was it all a dream, that brilliant blazing explosive time? That all-too-brief summer?
In fact, however, if you open your eyes you find (s)he's still here, but will be leaving soon, and...

This just in..

I've been told my blog is "abrasive."

I was also once told that I was too "polemical" in my writing.

If I'm sappier and more sugary, will everyone like me more, pwease?

P.S. I have no idea when I was abrasive. Probably just now?
hey_mama:
abrasive is bad?!? eeek

A few thoughts...

1. MEN TO BOYZ... At a certain stage in human evolution, not long ago, calling women above age 18 "girls" would have been considered by some to be offensive, and it still is depending on the context (rightly so). I'm intrigued by the constant use of the word "boy" to refer to men over that age. I understand it as a shorthand...

How this works.

I go to work. IN order to work I PAY the club money, usually about 35-90 dollars a night depending on what time I get there and what night it is.

Now, if it's really dead or the crowd just isn't into me..then I don't make any money...

Thus I have made negative money for the night.

Which sucks.

And happens sometimes.

Like tonight which really sucked a lot of ass.

Damn.

".....COMMON COURTESY... I'm always amazed how some people online believe they can treat online correspondents (on email or IM) like they were human toilet paper. When your ass needs to be wiped, they're useful; otherwise feel free to abruptly flush away with no explanation. No muss, no fuss. Just because you don't see the other person doesn't mean they're not real. I'm not talking about unknown anonymous fakes--I'm talking about people you've been corresponding with..."

i hate it when people comment me like they are "involved" with me.

July is almost over. It's blazing, crazy..soak it up, drink it down. Abundance, desire, satisfaction, ambition. Drive and stay up all night. Energy, ideas. It's all here, now. Go.

Don't ever let anyone, especially yourself, diminish your life.
Fill 'er up, get on the road, kick back, dig in.

Eat it up.

"Single Girls Turn to Sperm"

That was the teaser headline on the MSN Hotmail home page today...
it linked to an article about women using sperm banks to get pregnant.

The ambiguities of the headlines are rather mindboggling.

What a prescient interesting comment! (hey, somebody has to respond to this journal...is everyone out LIVING LIFE OUTSIDE THE COMPUTER? is that allowed?)

Thanks for commenting on my new set! Glad you liked it kiss

IDEOLOGICAL WAR? NO THANKS

Bush's spokesman keeps saying something about a long and hard "ideological war." So the rhetoric has shifted--it's not just a war against "terrorism" but some sort of battle of ideologies.
What the fuck? How do you dignify subway bombers or rapacious militaty governments by calling them bearers of an ideology?
I'm not in this war. The U.S. has no coherent ideology,...

How about next week for Scrabble?

Good luck with that. Most of the American populus is completely brainwashed at this point. A woman who lived next door to my dad tried to talk to me about how sorry she was for my lost and ended the conversation with the "thought" that we shouldn't change our way of life because then the terrorists will have won. WTF?!?

Just driving by a club yesterday that's usually a fairly dull place on the way home after a party, I saw...

two women standing in line, one wearing a magenta dress, low cut, ending in a puffy ballerina tutu-ish thing, over red stockings that themselves had calf-high white stockings over them...cool...and her friend in a similar white outfit, but with a pink backpack purse slung...

At the Dylan Fest at the Bling Pig, I went to pee and there was an SG sticker in the men's urinal. Is this somebody's sick idea of a joke?

You have now missed the Art Fairs AND the Dylan Fest. The latter is always worth checking out--dozen-plus bands do two Dylan songs each.

I also saw the world's shortest non-midget woman there. She couldn't...

technically, a midget is anyone who is 4'10" and under... although i'm not pulling this fact out of my ass, i don't have anything to back it up either.
my mother is 4'10" and she was always told by our doctor that she is a midget. therefore, i've been led to believe this to be the definition for the duration of my life.
hey_mama:
no, i know what you meant! wink

no worries...

that's the definition of the word "midget" as opposed to dwarf or something...

someone who's really short but otherwise looks proportionately normal.

Thirty miles away from Ann Arbor, the most progressive city in the Midwest (maybe, or at least so its residents think; Madison more likely is much more), and its art fairs, where pretentious and badly dressed suburbanites compete for outrageously priced faux "art" (and a few pieces of excellent art) is the backwater village of Manchester, as Middle American as you can get. It's a...

At the Art Fair, on the Diag, I stumbled across the "Eyes Wide Open" installation -- boots of all the dead U.S. soldiers in Iraq (and many shoes for Iraqi civilians, including children, too). They were reading the names of the dead one by one. I cried as I took photos.
What a fucking waste. All these young men and women--and grandparents and grandchildren-- destroyed...and...
