current book: Fanatics & Fools. by Arianna Huffington.
-excellent book. i would prolly call myself a Republican minus a few key issues, if Bush wasnt the presidential representative of that party. I cant even fathom his rational for his rediculous spending.

$1.5 billion on a campaign to protect and promote marrige. that... is what we call... a mindfuck. if you ponder it for too long, it actually feels like a giant penis is invading your skull. most of our Iraq intelligence is 'flawed' ...or the administration wont admitt they jsut wanted to get into Iraq.... either one... BUT, sure...lets spend a billion bucks on a campaign to allienate the gay population. Hey, that $40 billion a year war on drugs is going awfully well , why not pick up a new cause?

war on drugs= war on minorities/poor
marrige campaign = war on homosexuals.
PATRIOT act = war on civil liberties

throw in dirty government contracts in Iraq, overflowing with conflicts of interest. A supreme court that seems to be lobbyed just as well as my state congressman. (read: Scalia)

government spending is out of control.... unless of course, you are one of the millionares benefiting from the absurd financial policys...

vote Kerry. but read a book first.

Whenever I think of the war on drugs I'm reminded of a quote LBJ said about the war on poverty: "We fought a war on poverty and poverty won." Makes me wonder how porn could win the war on porn.

I find that I can't wholly endorse any party, though I can find one or two issues to like in most of them. Sadly this means I must view them all of flawed.

I second reading a book first... Usually most political parties seem to function well in a microcosm, on a local county or state level. It's only when their flaws get enlarged to have to cater to everyone on a national interests level do both republicans' and democrats' ideals begin to look a bit....stretched.
