So here it is folks- the fucking lowdown. bah. It will not be too long, as I have to get up in the morning to pull out my windshieldand hope that the glass guy comes to put a new one in.It's not too bad, though- I have only been driving my car uninspected for like 6 days now. I'm sure I will get pulled over on my way to work.
So today was my parents' anniversary (well, my mom and stepdad anyway- I just call them my parents) and I went to get them a card and just for shits and giggles I stopped at the camera shop to see if they had any 35mm SLR's on consignment. I am kind of toying with the idea of getting another one, maybe a Nikon, something that isn't a huge pain in the ass to get lenses for. They had nothing like that, though there was a nice mamiya medium format camera...
but anyway they had a way cool video camera. It's a professional model hi-8, not dv or anything, but it's $100. I'm thinking maybe I'll pick it up on my way to work. I also want to get a bicycle. All the stores are having sales and I can get a nice road bike for $120. Maybe I'll check out the bike shop on the way to work.
But yeah, work. I had been planning on moving down to the seacoast area, but then I got a bit half- assed about it and stopped looking for places. But then... I found a really great job that will probably teach me a lot, and it is even farther north than I already am. Now I am moving north instead of south. I will likely be working 6- 7 days per week. blah.
but I knew it would happen- it's the kitchen of a very nice restaurant at a ski resort.
On the other side of that, though, I was seriously debating calling up the Red Cross and volunteering to go down to Florida to help with the cleanup operations. Though it is backbreaking labor, I think that I would like to get involved. I need to do some sort of volunteer or service work soon so I can feel that I'm being of use. It's like the time I didn't sign up with Americorps, or the UUSC, or even the fucking place down the street that serves free meals on Tuesday nights. I think I need to feel like I'm helping somebody do something constructive.
But I'm rambling. so it goes.
