I thought I had managed to pull off a trip to UT to go snowboarding and rock climbing this weekend. Alas, it fell through but weekend after next is looking good. I need to get out of this cold and do something active for a while and I have several friends who are up for it. Hopefully their weather will hold and we can do...

Just a couple of pics that show why NY is so interesting. One is of the coolest entrances in the gallery area in Chelsea. The other is a sign someone has painted on their rooftop that has a W with a slash through it and says "Fugedaboudit" written around it.

Riding the subway this morning and I saw a father and his young son. Obviously...

Joya is in the Cobble Hill area of Brooklyn. It is right where Warren hits Court St. Joya looks directly out at the street sign wtih both streets. It's off the Bergen stop on the F line if you take subways.

The owners of Joya have another place in Park Slope, named Song. It's just off the corner of 2nd St and 5th Ave. It's...

I can't believe how cold it is here today. I'm sure it's colder in Boston or up in ME but it sure feels cold here. 9 degrees when I got up and who knows how cold it is with the windchill. I have to walk all the way across town to the west side to visit a client and I'm not looking forward to it....

It is so fucking cold here today. I had to go to a Starbucks to get online because my Internet is down. Damn cable. I hate feeling like a hostage to those companies.

It is supposed to be minus 15 with the windchill. It hurts to be in windy aread. What a shock after such a warm winter. But I guess it had to go...

it is sooo cold here today. The wind is blowing but it's sunny. Fashion Week started Friday so there are even more interesting people in town than usual. I love days like this. Just cruised around SoHo for a while just watching the people. You can't beat NY when it's like this. Now I'm going to just hang, surf the net and drink coffee for...

Yeah I would be terrified of a fashion week in this shit town. It'd be a bunch of Hollister brats in censor bar sized denim skirts.

Anyone read "Self Made Man"? I just finished reading it. What a cool book. I got a chance to meet the author a few weeks ago and had to read the book. The author dressed up as a man for almost a year and a half to see what it was like to live in a man's world. She tried to go places women wouldn't...

Flew back into NY last night. Landed in falling snow. It was dumping snow out near the airport and looked like it had snowed much earlier in the city. Sometimes there is nothing worse than snow in the city. It is gorgeous and fun while it is snowing but man it sucks when it warms up a little. Nobody is good about clearing the snow...

Yeah, we don't have shots like those where I'm from. I really want to be there, in a city like that.

I left the Bay Area cuz there wasn't enough work for me there. I work with clothing companies (consulting on the design side) and there are only a few companies in the Bay area that can afford that kind of work. NY has probably thousands of companies in just a few square miles. I still get to the Bay Area once in a while as I do work for Gap and Levis sometimes.

And yes, shots like that are hard to come by in CA, especially if you don't live in SF. The NY skyline is just amazing. Although, my favorite shots are of SoHo when the steets are teeming with people. But I do have some amazing shots somewhere of the snowstorm in January '06 when the city was shut down by 2 feet of snow. So amazing to not have any cars anwywhere in sight.

Watched "Who Killed the Electric Car" today. Wow, it makes you hate big oil and our current administration even more. And no wonder the American car companies are in such trouble. They are the most short sighted companies in the world.
