Ever heard of continuous partial attention? I recently heard someone giving a speech about it when I was at the event in Santa Monica. It fascinated me since I'm usually doing my work, I'm also online, have my cell phone nearby (that people use to text and BlackBerry message me) and i often have music going. "But a core limitation is an inability to concentrate on two things at once", said Ren Marois, a neuroscientist. In a recent study, a group of Microsoft workers took, on average, 15 minutes to return to serious mental tasks, like writing reports or computer code, after responding to incoming e-mail or instant messages. They strayed off to reply to other messages or browse news, sports or entertainment Web sites.

Woman can pay attention in a lot of things in the same time. And mens usually concentrate theirselfs in just one topic. Like when they are watching soccer in television and don't here what we are saying. ...
