Ever heard of continuous partial attention? I recently heard someone giving a speech about it when I was at the event in Santa Monica. It fascinated me since I'm usually doing my work, I'm also online, have my cell phone nearby (that people use to text and BlackBerry message me) and i often have music going. Here's some interesting information - The human brain, with its hundred billion neurons and hundreds of trillions of synaptic connections, is a cognitive powerhouse in many ways. "But a core limitation is an inability to concentrate on two things at once", said Ren Marois, a neuroscientist. In a recent study, a group of Microsoft workers took, on average, 15 minutes to return to serious mental tasks, like writing reports or computer code, after responding to incoming e-mail or instant messages. They strayed off to reply to other messages or browse news, sports or entertainment Web sites.

I don't know why I found this so interesting. Maybe because I'm currently doing just that. I've interrupted some of my work so I can post this blog. wink

I do not fully understand your journal today because I have a poor English and often miss the meaning of some words. But I think I understand the basics. Actually I'm saying about not just today, but everyday and everyone posts.

Do you know there is a big difference between woman's and men's brain, you know?
Woman can pay attention in a lot of things in the same time. And mens usually concentrate theirselfs in just one topic. Like when they are watching soccer in television and don't here what we are saying. ...

I think that's interesting, but I know that if i'm trying to write an article even if there's just music in the background I can get distracted and I start writing bits of the lyrics or whatever so I have to be careful. Apart from that I can do a hundred things at once, literally!! biggrin
