So I'm back to my political type commentary. I finally had a chance to read the paper yesterday (I sat at the beach and watched the tiny waves roll in)



One of the articles was about more and more colleges and universities banning smoking on their campuses. Not only are they banning it close to the buildings and in the dorms but anywhere on campus. I'm not a smoker and don't like second hand smoke. But having spent my teenage years living in England I can deal with it and respect everyone's right to make a choice. I'm not sure how I feel about the ban at universities. The reasoning is that people form lifelong behaviors while in university and if we want to instill good, healthy habbits we should ban smoking. I think I have a problem with that. It seems a little big brother-ish to me. If you are smart enough to attend university I hope you are smart enough to make personal choices. Anyway according to the article it's becoming more and more common and they expect the trend on smoking bans to continue.
