I've gotten it to work under RH 8.0 with mixed results. It works fine as long as you're only reading from it. It's just a big FAT32 partition and Linux vfat support is sometimes flakey.
The only known problem I had with it was mounting it. You need to have the unit on before you plug in the USB cable. You also have to manually mount it since hotplugging won't create a mount point for you. Ususally
mount -t vfat -o[ mount options] /dev/sda1 /archos
will work.
