You look me in the eyes, I quickly turn my face away. I can tell you're still looking at me though, and that's when I start to shake uneasily... as if I were holding a razor blade to my wrist. I've been waiting for this moment all my life, my love staring at me waiting for me to speak. You've only been staring for a few seconds, but it feels longer than my entire life. My mind is working overtime just to come up with something I can say to you that isn't "I love you." But I'm coming up blank, and I can feel your gaze piercing through my skin and right into my heart. Which I'm afraid you've mistaken for my headphones playing some punked out love song... loud, fast, and sad.
I slowly turn to face you and I softly start to whisper "I love you." Then I see your face light up. You've got a lovestruck gaze in your eyes, and it couldn't make me happier. That's when it hits me, this is true love. I mouth out those 3 spectacular little words to you again, but I notice it doesn't effect you at all. I carefully follow your line of eyesight and it takes me to me, through me, and above me. You're staring at someone else, and I'm just sort of in your way. That's when I start to shake uneasily, wishing that I was holding a razor to my wrist.
