Right now, someone in my apartment complex is burning plastic or something, and the horrible, suffocating smell is wafting into my apartment and making me warm in that pre-pass-out way. It's a horrible thing, but what makes it worse is that I am babysitting a friend's cat, so I can't open the door, or else he will jet forever, and I'll be in bookoo trouble. Ahhh... a breeze.

I am currently winding down from a beautiful day. I stayed in bed and watched cartoons, which I haven't done in at least 10 years, then I went out and bought some new wine, smoked salmon, cheese and water crackers, fresh fruit and kona coffee (of course, a blend.. I can't afford the pure stuff.. but the blends are still really good.) Then I put on a skirt and drove to Balboa Park to treat myself to the Maxfield Parrish exhibit, among some fascinating others, at the SD Museum of Art.

The Parrish exhibit is something I've been trying to make since it opened, but sometimes it's impossible to find people that are mellow enough for the museum, and to break away from everyone else. But today I politely told everyone that called that I was spending the day alone, and I meandered around the galleries at my own, slow, delicious pace. I can't believe it's been so long since I've been. The delight it brought was enough even to overpower my frustration with people who bring their two-year olds to places like art museums, where the acoustics are above par and playground equipment is non-existent. The echoing shrills of bored, hungry children can fray even the most relaxed nerves.

As for the exhibit, it was absolutely gorgeous. With his background in architecture, texture and depth reminiscent to that of Boticelli, gorgeous colors and believable mix of realism and fantasy.. it's hard not to like.

But enough about that. Before I commence to writing and listening to Allison Scull, I want to recommend my new favorite merlot to those of you who care: Lapis Luna. Despite that Rex Goliath has been a consistent favorite for nearly a year, this one purchase has taken its steady lead. Just, yum. Go to Cost Plus and spend the $6. You'll agree.

Alright.. enough of being cool.. thanks for stopping by.

What have you been up to lately? I thought you were gonna leave the site a long, long time ago?

How does it feel to be done with school? Now that I'm done, I'm not sure what to do with myself. Jobs in my field are few and far between and the pay is humiliating without a license.

damn... my baby mama put the plastic thing to the george foreman grill in the dish washer and it fell down to the bottom... and melted on that really hot thing in there... so... i'm totally sorry you had to smell that. it was horrible.

and i'm sorry if the kid's cryin' and bickerin' keeps you up at night. and the dog's sorry for running around so much... but he doesn't get a whole lot of play time... and... he's just a dog. ya know?

glad to see you're back. i'm not around much, but will make an effort to stop by when i can.
