I woke up this morning around 5 am, just in time to hear the guy in the radio announce that the space shuttle would be landing at Edwards AFB in 15 minutes. Of course, being the geek that I am, I hopped out of bed, put on the coffee and opened my door.
One of the awesome things about my apartment is that it is situated at such an angle that I can clearly see the planes coming in to land at the airport, but I can barely hear them. It's a marvel of science, really.
So.. as the news on tv joined in the countdown and illustrated the flight path, I kept my eye out. And when I saw an unusually bright plane in the usual place, I walked around my building to get a better view of the runway. And as I looked up and caught site of a gigantic FedEx plane... I realized that the name of the airport by my house is Lindbergh Field.

at least you were motivated... that would've been cool though. fuck, if it was landing as lindbergh i might've gone and seen it as well. but then again it would look just like another plane(flying bus) was landing.
