And how erosion

Im familiar with the coastline
Of California
But the waters colder
Where Im from
So Ive stayed away.

Maybe thats why
I find it so hard
When I try to
Recognize your behavior
Of diving so deep.

Youre used to life
That is simpler
In settings;
Of both the scenes
And the sun when it sleeps.

You used to feel like
The ocean;
So powerful and grandiose,
Tearing away at life
With each grain of sand.

Now even the rain
Seems more driven
Than you feel;
Here where
Winter seems unplanned.

Now I get it, though
My hips look like
Cliffs to claw
With your foamy fingers;
My breasts, like jagged rocks.

You wear me down
Carve me out to calm yourself
Convinced that
You are rolling
As the boats quietly dock.
