One of the biggest reasons I joined this community, this social network, is because of the people in it ... I love the art of tattoos, and enjoy getting them even more, but sharing my art is rare. Each piece I have was carefully thought out and had deep personal meaning to me, and when I first started getting tattooed I was shamed by family, employers, and even random strangers ... there was a 7 year gap I didn’t even get a tattoo in hopes of avoiding that type of criticism ... To this day, I still wear long pant, and long sleeve shirt in public and choose to share my art with select individuals ... To take a picture and share it on social media is horrifying for me, but I’m taking that first step forward today and sharing my most recent and probably my most meaningful one ...I got the idea one day when I was looking at all my friends I had pictured on my wall. My wall of fame I called it. Some going all the way back to school. Many I lost touch with years ago. I couldn’t tell ya if they are alive or dead honestly, but I still look at those photos, tell you every name and stories to go alone with them ... I thought “I wonder if they even know they are still apart of my life” and boom the idea hit my ... I’ve started collecting friends’ signatures and together with my artist pieced them together to make a sleeve ... it’s an ongoing process which is so much fun ... I try to have them personalize it with a saying, drawing, or whatever. Just like when one might have friends sign their cast. Than I share with each of them a picture of there name so they know they have impacted my life in one way or another and with always be with me ... this summer I hope to add the next collection of name ...
