Work has been hella busy lately. As much as I liked having those 3 days off last week, the work just piled up on my desk. I'm so behind now. This next week is gonna be hell trying to catch up.
My mom was in town this weekend for a conference so she met me over at Anthony's for my usual Survivor night on Thursday. It gave her time to spend some time with me and get caught up with Anthony's mom and grandma.
Then on Friday it was Underground... I so needed a drink after my two hectic days at work. On the way to the club I passed a small restaurant on the corner and noticed that my promotor friend and another regular were sitting inside and they were waving me in. So I sat with them for a bit and had a beer. Then it was off to the club where the location booked a band called Tilly and The Wall. They were fairly interesting... especially since the percussion was done by a tap dancer... yes, a tap dancer. A little poppy... my friend Clifton called them Kid's Incorporated 2008. I might have to check out some more of their stuff before I make a full decision about them. Then of course my drinking continued through the course of the night. Yes, a much needed night of fun.
Saturday, Anthony had an urge to just go hang out at Disneyland. Well, since we both have annual passes we just went for a few hours. We didn't even go on one ride... just hung out, people watched, and walked both parks. One of the low key things you can do when you have the ability to go back any time you want for an entire year.
Today, I met up with my mom for lunch and had some one-on-one time. Well, the last time I saw her (other than Thursday) was Christmas. So she caught me up on everything going on back home and I let her know everything I've been doing here. She still wants me to move back, but I just don't see that happening. My life is firmly established here. It would take some drastic change in my life to make me move back at this point.
Tomorrow it's back to work and the game of catch up so I'm just gonna keep the rest of my night low key. Enjoy this slow peroid before everything takes off again.
Hope you all had a good weekend.
