I'm back... still alive.

I've discovered that one shouldn't mix a nasty cough that's lasted over half a week and high altitudes. I went to Lake Tahoe to meet up with my family and the less oxygen in the higher altitude not only made me cough more but much harder too. It basically made most of my visit with my family miserable. I had too keep telling the kids I couldn't play as much with them because I'd keep breaking down in coughing fits. They didn't quite understand and I felt bad. It looked like one of my cousins was sick with the same thing because the little bit I saw of her, she was coughing just as much and she fell asleep in a corner on Thanksgiving. But I did get my needed family time in. I am feeling somewhat better, but we'll see how well a good night's rest in my own bed helps.

I would automatically call in sick to work tomorrow if I didn't have to make sure certain things were done that only the boss can do. Maybe I'll head for home after mid-day (again, depending on how I feel).
