What? A Work Blog?
Gonna blog about work as much as I feel is safe (which isn't ever very much) today.
Andrew Peterson's last day at work is tomorrow (Friday). We're headed to Ozzie's after work to down a few, come join us! He's a nice guy and really overqualified for his position so he did it extremely well. I did my best to accommodate him and he responded in kind so we got along. I'd really miss Andrew, except he lives about 5 miles from me and we've already planned to see a Rush game.
I have been named engineer of the month for a 3rd time. Not sure if I earned it this time or if it's a "hey, glad you still have a job here" sorta thanks. Probably a little of both. It's not like the first time where I thought "did you run out of inanimate carbon rods?" The second time I earned it. I've been working hard but feel there are others who deserve it more. But hey, I'll take the parking spot for a month.
We are expanding and redoing our offices. Originally, we were supposed to expand, sorta move and then redo the existing offices. Except now we're doing both and it makes for funny, cramped quarters because of painting, recarpeting and only so much space to work in. That and everyone getting high off of paint fumes. Before today, I'd not been in the offices in a month or so and it came as a shock. Lotsa people working from home and I may be one of them tomorrow. I just know the staging labs will be redone the moment I have to stage things.
