The hardest man I ever met told me a story last night about getting hit in the top of the head with a baseball bat. The bat broke in two, and one of the pieces wound up sticking into the ground at his feet. He took that piece and hit the original bat-swinging tough guy with it in the face.

Then the fight ended.

Many...

oh baby. it's good to live in a fantasy. it really is.
uncommoncold:
That was a good response. I expected more cattiness from you, but got sincerity instead. A pleasant surprise, of course.

I, also, see myself living in a similar situation in ten years- except minus the children, wiife, and students. I just want to be in love and living on Quadra Island, far enough away from everything so that I can be completely peaceful without distraction, but close enough that I can still be immersed in everything if I want or need to be. (What does it say about me if I can't be completely at peace within a city? I guess I'm just not trying hard enough.)

Sending kittens and money your way. You'll have to sign in blood for them, though.

The cutest little kitten came into my convenience store last night. We hung out. It was nice.

Yeah, exactly! I think the interesection between hardwired biology, body and mind is the really interesting stuff. I don't know very much about it though, so it's a goal of mine to learn much more. smile

Yippy cay yay! Have a good day smile

Yes, the teen years are an amazing pain in the ass. Besides the fact that the kid has a new girlfriend every week.. wink

Here are some photos that I have brazenly stolen from the internet and am posting here, offering the original photographers neither credit nor recourse.

I invite you to freestyle the rest of this clever and intriguing journal entry anew each time you visit my page.

If you are unable to amuse yourself with a spontaneously conceived CK-like witticism, I cannot at this time be of...

Scene 67 - Chopper's Kitchen -- Interior, Bedtime.

RIVER, 4 1/2, is finishing her grape juice before bed. CK, 35, is spending the night on her father's couch, as all of his possessions have been sold, shipped or stored.

RIVER
Where are you going to sleep?

CK
I thought you could sleep outside and I'd sleep in your bed.

RIVER
Oh, I can't sleep outside....

I am making a 3 days stop by DC to see some friends - I'll be flying out to Paris on June 6th. Yukky weather man!

If you're feeling it, email me your address and I'll drop a copy in the mail for you. More than happy to do it unless you're a liner note guy. I don't honestly remember whether or not there's anything of interest in the notes - or any notes at all for that matter.

I'm right with you on Channel Live. I seem to run into that feeling a lot. Too often, MCs wind up sounding better on a DJ or producer's album than they do on their own. The Herbalizer is a prime example of this, for me. Great in gues shots, but Something Wicked This Way Comes did't move me until the Wildflower spot. Now that's good litening. Guru's Jazzmatazz series is bursting with artists who sound 1000x better on his work than on their own.

The Madlib stuff looks fantastic. My Windows media player is in some sort of spat with the audio link, so I couldn't hear it, but it appears to be right up my alley.

The Verve Remixed is a decent collection that looks to be along the same lines, just working with a different catalog. You haven't lived until you've heard Tricky mix Billie Holiday.

Seriously.

Blue Note was right on the ball about a decade back. My dad was always pissed that Verve (he did distribution for Universal, and worked with Verve a lot) didn't pick up on what Blue Note was doing at the time. Blue Notes Rare Groove series was doing huge numbers for a while and turning lots of new heads. The music was ripe and the Blue Note folks were waiting for new producers while the great Verve catalog collected dust for so long.

The Theme From Ernest Borgnine, by Squarepusher, from the album Feed Me Weird Things.

To me, I like to imagine that this song is death through rebirththe in-between place when you realize how perfect it all was and remember why you keep doing it over and over again. It begins at the moment of death, and ends just before the moment of re-birth....

Well huh no actually don't Holler if your near me coz I'm a jumpy guy and I could lose change, or spill my drink, plus I'm not sure if my insurance would cover a freak "Holla" heart attackbiggrin

It was definitely a surprise to see you there. I was stoked with what little time we had. People had a habit of vanishing after I told them I'd be right back that night. Next time I'm not warning you fuckers, I'm just going to jump on you from the balcony.

In the Midwest, there sure are a lot of old boys with big bellies who stand around with their hands in their pockets and just smile at folks.

Their belts are slung low and snugthe pinstripes or pastel plaid or horizontal golf-stripes on their neatly tucked cotton/lycra shirts bulge and arc and then contract and dive into khakis or blue jeans. These fellersll make little...

how about this? Superman just tells Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen to just stay home. Those two are tying up at least 50% of his time by getting into one dumbass mess after another.
