Thank you to everyone who commented and answered my question. I appreciate hearing where everyone is at, and finding out that with variations, most of us are finding the same type of value here. I really enjoy this site, and I truly appreciate you all. Thank you.

I think Tarqu1n summed it up succinctly: I've been on the net for years, made many friendships that started electrically, but now I think SG is a much more mature expression of the possibility for connecting to those kindred fellow humans across the huge expanses of time and space that part us.

Ex-fucking-actly.

A hip-hop dubby downtempo mix I made a while back (37:31, 42 MB mp3). I dont know if Ive shared this one yet; I remember intending to, but dont remember actually putting a link up for you. Underground will live forever baby -- we just like roaches -- never dying, always living.

Lots of nice rainy day songs on this one: Gangstarr, a Kruder & Dorfmeister remix of a Cutty Ranks joint, Slide Five, Tosca, Missy Elliot (Desert Discs remix), Blockhead, Jill Scott, Jazzanova, Freestyle Fellowship, this sick white-label instrumental that I do my I wish I was John Coltraine scratch over.

Have you seen the Terry Tate Office Linebacker shorts? I would guess that most American men have, but most of the rest of the worlds denizens have not? So. Damned. Funny.

This video cracks me the fuck up.

Else you in for a long day. A loooooooong day! Cause Triple-Ts up in this . . . biiiiiiiiitch!

For those of you who dont follow American football, Terry Tate is a linebacker; in the game, the linebacker plays defense and it is his job to hang around behind the scrum (the line) and plug any gaps in the defense that the offensive line has managed to create.

He usually does this at full speed and with maximum violence.

He isnt the biggest guy on the field, but he may be the strongest. One linebacker (Ray Lewis) did 1,000 push ups a day while he was in jail. (One. Thousand. A. Day. I defy you to do fifty.) One of the linebackers other jobs is to get around, past or behind the biggest guys on the field (the offensive line) and then hit the smallest guy on the field (the quarterback) as hard as he can.

Being a linebacker requires a lot of split-second decision-making, the kind of intelligence that reads and interprets patterns quickly, but most of all it requires a whole lot of mean. In order to be a good linebacker, you have to be freakishly strong, freakishly quick, and super aggressive.

So what if your office had a linebacker?

The pain train is comin! WhooWOOO!
