I spent some time outside earlier looking for the ISS. It was too cloudy and I couldn't see it! But looking up at the stars I got thinking about how we could be much like them.
As we move away from someone, it wouldn't take long before that person faded into the black and moved out of our view. Yet we all have some people in our world that no matter how far away they are, they still feel connected to us.
We spend too much time trying to look good for others. Trying to behave in a way that will please them. And by doing so, we disconnect from ourselves and dim our light. The fact is, the only person who sees you at all times, no matter what you are doing, is you! We would benefit from spending more time staying connected and pleasing ourselves. When we are connected, we shine, just like the stars. When we shine, we connect better with other people, and influence them.
Becoming happy within ourselves is the first step to shining so bright, that others will see you, no matter how far away you get.
After all, we are all made of stardust, why not start acting like it?

And yes. I agree. I've been trying to do a lot more 'staying connected and pleasing myself' lately. But a bit of care about what my friends think is good motivation too sometimes. Everything in moderation though, yeah?
