i think it will be easier in summer when
the darkness outside is
something warm and wet and alive
and the streetlamps glow-
yellow
and hum electric in the night

and there will be shadows,
again,
from the leaves on the trees.
and the grass will sing under my bare feet-
and the breezes, the gentle swirling of
convection currents,
front meeting front, over the ocean and
down from the hills-
will caress bare skin.
and the secrets of all the small things
turning slowly in the soil
waiting patiently,
will be made manifest.

now everything is sleeping
now everything is silent
now everything is sublimating it's riotous urges
to save strength for the coming season.

today i discovered that reese makes peanut butter hearts for valentines day.
i may have eaten myself into a chocolate coma.
