so i sent my dad an email with the picture from my previous journal entry of FreakPirate and I drinking the wine-in-a-mother-fucking-box, because my dad likes to be reminded from time to time that some of his genes are being expressed in his offspring. this is an excerpt from the response he sent:

(note: craig, who works with my dad, is that father of a guy i went to high school with - whose acreage we held a lot of parties at)

"The pic you sent me of you and your friend now adorns the inside of the lid on my tool boxes at work, and Craig thought it was kinda a wimpy like effort on your part, considering that you hold the record of (he thinks) the longest recorded keg stand to be held at his place. Hmmmm, now there's something I was not aware of.......... Why is it that I'm the last to know, when I should have been singing your praise from the highest tree?"

addendum: i just took out all of my piercings. it started with taking my conch out to clean it and check that it wasn't infected, as it's been giving me trouble all week and then.. then i just kept going. and then i looked in the mirror, and almost didn't recognize myself. and looked down at a tiny pile of surgical steel sitting in my palm and was completely astonished at how something so tiny could have become such a huge part of my self-concept. it frightens me that i do not feel like me without surgical alterations.
