hey there, happy new year, hopefully it will be better, or less wierd and random, than last year. Anyways, here's my best shows of 2004 list. enjoy.
Not Breathing @ the Smell
Random highlight: NB playing for 2 hours then mr Wright inviting me and some other folk onstage to check out his gnarly homemade gear. he's good people.
Pro-Death (my band) w/ Cattle Decapitation @ the Knitting factory
yeah, im putting our show in here because it was one of our best. so whatever.
Random highlight: playing hackysack in the back of the venue with some peeps from the other bands, until witnessing a car accident which resulted in murder by an RV slaming a dude into a parked car........on purpose. Then at the end of our set blasting harsh noise for 5 mins straight, then walking offstage only to leave our gear still running for a good 10 mins. Pretty rad at a metal show.
Prurient, Hair Police, Pedestrian Deposit, + others @ the Smell
Random highlight: chatting with Connelly (hair police screamer dude) about king diamond, prurient crushing my mind with sound, couldnt hear for a week, thanks Dom
Seeing Skinny Puppy 3 times!!
Random highlight: at the first show, being in the front row with my buddy john, ogre jumps off stage toward the crowd, mic slams into johns head, he still has a scar, dead center of his forehead.
Death in June @ the Key Club
Random Highlight: seeing the singer from AFI and counting how many times he played with his hair throughout the night. it was ALOT
Wolf Eyes open for Sonic Youth @ Henry Fonda Theater
Random Highlight: crowd confusion durring wolf eyes set. totally hilarious. + Olsen swinging that big mace around, total terror.
Kaiju Big Battel @ the Avalon
Random Highlight: everything!! best time ever watching city crushing monsters duke it out before my very eyes, oh when Hell Monkey was kicking ass to Slayer's "Raining Blood" was pretty rad too.
Brighter Death Now @ DNA Lounge, aka our drive back and forth to San Francisco in one day
Random Highlight: Mr Karmanik hurting us. ALOT
Wolf Eyes @ the Echo
Random Highlight: cherrypoint getting me in for free, thanks dude!!!!!! i totally owe you one. and of course Wolf Eyes' brutality. FUCK
Sunn O))) and John Wiese @ the Knitting Factory
Random highlight: Wiese letting me cruse with him backstage to see Sunn O))) in drunken glory and other assorted acts of total doom
