Today (& don't ask why I calculated this), is my 8,066th day on earth. Seems like a lot, doesn't it? It's a fun game...how many days have you been alive?


So...stages. It's funny how much your life will change. And it works two ways. Now I have things I'd never have bought if not for her...a cell phone, body wash...things I used to loathe. But there they are. Two year contract on the cell, and the body wash...well, ok, I like how it smells. Fuck off.

I told her, early on, that I only used chapstick when I'm dating someone. It's curious to watch the progression of the past weeks. I don't think I've used any at all now for 3-4 days. Several days have passed when I haven't used my phone for anything more constructive than a watch. Eventually, I'll just start leaving it at home when I go out.

Don't get me wrong, I like single me. Single me gets to go for moon-lit walks at 3 in the morning and smoke a pack & a half without having anyone bitch at him about it. Of course, relationship me got to be in bed next to the woman he loved at 3 in the morning, had someone who cared about him enough to bitch.

It's the same debate as always. Pros and cons. Freedom vs security. Cake or pie.

The only certainty we have in this life: it goes on. Other than that, might as well ask a Magic 8-Ball.
