I need to go to bed damn soon, but I need to write this shit down first, because I've had the weirdest fucking weekend ever.

So, last night after work I had a party to attend. The party itself was rather lame, as any such event affiliated with St. Thomas will be (several people weren't drinking, the conversation was largely political & literary--and don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with that. I just prefer to get drunk and tell the most insanely inappropriate jokes that exist-but anyway), but at 1:30 it was decided that we should go to this afterhours club where one of the guys there worked the door. So he, Dave (my friend), his roommate and I go to this shithole in northeast Minneapolis with too-loud, boring techo and $3 cans of Bud light and wine coolers (and nothing else). The air of desparation about the clientele was both funny and disturbing, and as a whole it would've sucked but for two things: 1. knowing the doorman, we got in for free (and got free drinks), and 2. around 5 AM some chick got Dave & I high, seemingly just because she needed a lighter to smoke. So for all the weirdness, it ruled--but I'll be goddamned if I'm going there again & paying (the cover is $10).

Now, today after work I was supposed to meet another friend, Mark, whom I couldn't reach. So I caught the 21 to Uptown with the intent of finding a nice spot in a coffeeshop to read, except I ended up running into two of my aunts and one of my cousins (she actually saw me walking by while they were in the Green Mill, ran out to catch me), which was surreal because they live in Fargo and Iowa. Surreal, but awesome, because like family will do they bought be a beer and some food at the Mill, and then a ticket for Brave New Workshop, which kicked fucking ass. Then I proceeded on to a nice Cheapo browse, and then home. And goddamn, how will I ever top the last 24 hours?

The only tragedy is my need to get some sleep (fucking work tomorrow).
Life is good.
