The day has been eventful so far, at least for me, which is a definate plus seeing as its only 12:15 and most of the day is yet to come. I was at church this morning and there were some quotes in the bulletin and one really hit me kind of hard.
"A myriad of men are born; they scramble for little mean advantages over each other; age creeps upon them; infirmities follow...and they vanish from a world where they were of no consequence...a world which will lament them a day and forget them forever."
-Mark Twain
So yeah, that quote really hit me kind of hard, because I don't want to be a person like that, and it really gave me another level of drive reguarding my art work. I've kind of been slacking off because school is almost over
which is ashame.
I came home them and was eating lunch and all of a sudden this bulb I had replaced in the hood of my fish tank fell over and shattered all over my kitchen floor. I managed to pick up big pieces without getting cut, but when I went to throw them away, I missed the garbage can and a piece hit the thing above it and went straight into my hand. It didn't hurt to bad but a couple minutes later I looked down and there was so much blood and for about 30 seconds I was all like "yea man...how impressive is this?" but then I realized that the cut way maybe an eighth of an inch long. Needless to say, I have to go to work today.
And THEN I went outside to throw the rest of the bulb away and passed where I had planted a bunch of flowers. See, I love irises and I had planted a bunch. This year they came back taking up about three times the space they used to and there were a ton of blooms already! It made me really happy. Beside them I had a jack-in-the-pulpit planted. They are about the coolest plant ever, in my book, and I waited three damn years for the thing to bloom and it finally did. And last year it bloomed again. This year I went out and looked and I'm so fucking happy because there are two of them now. Simple things make me thrilled to death, jack-in-the-pulpits and irises being two of them, and so I'm set for at least the week in terms of outright happiness.
