It's official...I'm pregnant.
The first thing I did was e-mail a midwife I know on Nantucket. This lady has known me since before I was born, she used to watch my brother and I when my mom was working. Ever since I can remember, a home birth was what I wanted to do should I ever have a baby...I have never been fond of hospital births. To me, they seem so unnatural. I will be meeting with her between Christmas and New Year.
The second thing I did was look at baby clothing on hottopic.com. I know, I know, I am a dork...but I made a wishlist if anyone is so inclined!! (Not that I really made the wishlist for that, it's mainly to remind myself what I liked...if that makes sense?? But still...if anyone wants
!)
Then I looked up diaper bags, though I am sooo far from needing any of this stuff, it's just something to calm me down I suppose. Diaper bags now are cooool, and whatever one I get I will probably keep using after the baby doesn't need it anymore...
I haven't told my boyfriend yet as I am not on the island. I can't wait to see the look on my parents' faces, they still think I am a virgin, I swear.
I am (even though this is soooo not a good time in my life to be pregnant) very happy about it.
Aurora for a girl, and it my boyfriend doesn't like it, well, he can give birth to the next one!! (I know, I know, overused saying, but so true nonetheless.)
Noooow I just don't know what to do about New Year. I had plans to go to Bulgaria to drink copiously with friends. The midwife said I can travel...But I just don't know how much fun it's going to be without the drinking!! I know that sounds soo awful, but...has anyone else ever been the only sober one amongst a group full of drunk Bulgarians? (Or really, any nationality, for that matter?) It ain't too much fun!
