I can't believe last night I was worried about something as insignificant as cheating on my boyfriend. Just a few hours ago, I saw three people hit by a car. It wasn't an accident.
I would be dead right now, but for some man I don't even know who risked his life to push me out of the way. I don't even remember that moment at all...my friend standing near me had to tell me about it. I just remember being so close that the car hit the front of my sweatshirt...while I was wearing it.
The sound...when that man's body hit the car...that sound will live with me forever.
Three people. As I am typing, I can hear the medi-vac leaving the hospital with someone...I just know the person in it is that man...
That man flying into the air keeps playing in my head.
My friend...she was lying on the ground. She couldn't remember her own name.
This island is a cesspool of fucked up people who care nothing for innocent people's lives. I can't come back here again.
Add insult to injury. My friend was traumatized by it all, so I walked her home. She collapsed by the side of the road in tears. I sat down next to her and started crying too. Some drunk guy wandered down from some house somewhere and harassed us so much we had to threaten to call the police on him.

The book wasn't Moby Dick but I think it was supposed to be a true story of it. 'In the heart of the sea' it was called.

I was going to write something cute in response to your comment on my blog the other day, something along the lines of "so where's the group here at SG for those scared-to-death of horses" but that somehow seems inappropriate now. Hope it maybe made you smile, if only a little.
