My birthday haul:

$310 from my dad (actually, $200 for my birthday, $110 for fixing his computer)
Down comforter from the grands
$25 cash from an aunt and uncle
Cordless Dewalt circular saw (companion piece to my cordless 18v Dewalt drill)
$50 Barnes & Nobles card from family friends
$20 Borders card from friend Lisa

The cards purchased:
A Brief History of Time
A Concise History of Poland
The Rose & the Briar. Death, Love and Liberty in the American Ballad (and its companion CD)
The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire
Cash by Johnny Cash

I appear to be on a non-fiction kick right now. I started Catch-22 but I just could not get into it. Then I started Make Love Like a Porn Star by Jenna Jameson, but it is in my messenger bag that got left in Rachel's car and thus travelled all the way to Kalamazoo until the middle of December. Along with my digital camera and $20 in special cigarettes (American Spirits, Djarums and Izmir Stingers, oh my!)

Anyways, back from my tangent. Now I'm reading Bruce Campbell's autobiogrpahy, If Chins Could Kill: Confessions of aB Movie Actor as well as A Brief History of Time which is AMAZING. And I'm only 35 pages into it. If you're interested in sciency stuff, this is a really good book. It's really accessible and humorous and easy to follow. I never really had any grasp of relativity until tonite. It always just went over my head. But now I get it. Sort of.

Also, if you've already read it, I will recommend trying some Isaac Asimov nonfiction. In particular, Of Time and Space and Other Things. Very much Hawking-esque in his writing. Or vice-versa. Hawking is Asimov-ish.

I heart teh books!

Gotta love that down comforter! Hey the Bee Gees get my vote for writing some of the most infectious tunes ever. Only thing after really listening hard to the lyrics my opinion of them as a whole ain't that great.
